The Academy membership is designed for all those who are not members of a golf club, have never had a golf club handicap and are keen to learn to play the game of golf.
The membership fee is £550 for the 2010-2011 season and includes unlimited golf on our 9 hole Hartington Course plus 6 private lessons with the Royal's Professional's staff. We have found this to be a very successful way of not only learning to play golf, but also as a gradual path to full membership of the Club.
In recent years graduates from the Royal Academy have become Club Captains and Ladies' Captains. Members of the Academy very soon grow into a friendly section of of the Club. For Academy members who wish to play competitively there are monthly competitions organised.
If you are interested in participating then further information can also be obtained by contacting Toby Anderson in the Club Office. Toby is extremely helful and has helped many newcomers over the past years.
The Royal Academy is a wonderful, friendly way to learn the game in exceptional surroundings!
